It’s fast, it’s free and it can also be FUN!
Love it or lump it, we all know the power of social media and no matter how hard we try it’s very difficult to stay away from the lure of this alluring beast.
Here are 5 simple tips to make your presence felt on social media and enjoy it at the same time!
1.Focus on one media at a time – To build your presence on a relatively new social media, you need to give it time, attention and most of all your full focus. If you are starting with IG – create posts, story, reels specifically for IG. Learn and then use the right hashtags, answer messages, reply to comments, engage with other posts. Play around. Learn as you go. If you try doing all of this for all your social media, you will be exhausted, irritable at the time lost and will not enjoy the process. Besides you won’t see results. Give yourself at least 6-9 focused months on one media before moving to the other and once you are ‘visible’ you can run posts in tandem.
2. Capture those everyday magical moments – Don’t you often ask yourself “What should I post today?” Even the best of bloggers and content creators come up with a block! Here’s a simple thing to do as you go about your day. Take photos of yourself, your surroundings, an interesting moment, a situation, a place that you like, a quote that you read, a beautiful building, street, shop, anything. Basically capture your life in your lens as you see it and then use these photos as a backup to create stories on the spur of the moment. “I love drinking coffee at ‘Coffee & Co.’ because it gives me the right kick to start the day!” “Beaches are the best place to have a coaching conversation ~ where the waves soothe the soul.” With this ammunition of photos you won’t ever have to think too hard about writing the next meaningful post!
3. Share your story – While it’s nice to showcase your beautiful products or let the audience know about your service, sometimes it’s just nice to talk about yourself, your interests, your passion, how you started your business journey, your inspiration, your strengths and weaknesses, your successes and your failures. Make it authentic, make it interesting, share your story – you will be surprised how much people love to read these real, inspiring stories. You can also share a behind-the scenes photo – working at your laptop, doing a coaching call, watering your plants and whatever you feel comfortable sharing. This will help your audience know you as a person and the trust element is created even before you meet them. Feel free to then weave your product or service around this story.
4. Don’t miss out on the CTA – CTA or ‘Call to Action’ button is a very important part of each and every post that you share. These are basically calls from you that motivate your audience to ‘Do something!’ It could be in the form of “Click link in the bio” “Share your thoughts in comments below” “Register on this link” “Click on my website to know more” anything that will make the audience DO something! Basically while it’s important to share regular and high quality posts, it’s equally important for your post engagement to go up. CTAs not only generates interest and urges the audience to take an action, but it also increases engagement in the form of likes, comments, share on your post, giving it a boost as with increased engagement, our friendly programmable bots now offer your post to a wider audience!

5. Be regular and consistent – As mentioned in point 1, you need to be fully focused on one social media for at least 6-9 months, during this time it is important to have a regular pattern and rhythm to your posts. You could post once everyday, or five times a week or thrice a week, but once you decide this regularity based on your own time and schedule – stick to it! If it’s IG you might also need to add in 2-3 stories and a Reel a day, so work on something that is doable and sustainable. Don’t overcommit, don’t be too sparse either. Having a good regular feed based on your routine, will help you balance it with it your work and other responsibilities, making it purposeful and a lot of fun as you get more comments and interact with your audience!
