Hi, I am Mehroo, a Mental Fitness coach.
Born and brought up in the big and bustling city of India – Mumbai, where survival of the ‘fittest’ ruled the roost, where the word ‘fit’ was a synonym for power, money and fame, I always felt a bit lost and lonely, trying to understand what people were really after. Physical and mental wellbeing ranked way down the ladder of success, cropping up as a weekly twenty minute drill lesson in school and as a chapter in our Community Living text books at best. I wondered then if power, money and fame were at the top rung of the ladder of success that people painstakingly climbed, why did they not look elated, even happy when they reached the top? Why did their hearts still feel empty and their head still screamed ‘Something is missing!’
I just turned 48. I started on my physical fitness journey in my late thirties when I had a slow awakening to my changing body and fitness levels as I raised my energetic two boys as an expat in London. Changing my lifestyle to incorporate physical fitness into my routine was not easy and took months of solid discipline, rigour but once I started seeing the results it became easy to maintain and has been an integral part of my life for the last 10 years. And as I now move closer to my fifties, I feel another big shift happening. They say that for every big change in life, we need an effective trigger. Covid has been that trigger for me when I started on my own mental awareness journey and in the last two years I have gained knowledge and also let-go of a lot of things that were not serving me well, moving me from a space of mental awareness to mental fitness.
What is Mental Fitness all about?
‘Your mind can be your best asset but can also be your worst enemy.’ It stems from the fact that day after day, month after month your mind is constantly sabotaging your potential for happiness and performance. All negative emotions including stress, anxiety, guilt, shame are a result of this self-sabotage. This is what those people felt as they climbed up the ladder of success. What they did not know is that there is another way of climbing the same ladder minus all the negative emotions.
This ground breaking, research-based tool helps you exercise the part of the brain that serves you and quietens the part of the brain that sabotages you, offering you success that is real and long-lasting, where you handle life’s challenges in a positive mindset with less or no stress.
It is called ‘Mental Fitness’ – a journey that I have embarked upon and have seen a positive breakthrough in my own life’s decisions and patterns, a journey that is for life, and which I invite you to be part of.
